Chartered Accountant, BA (Honours), FCA
Geoffrey began in private practice in 1989 in the UK and since 2000 in Switzerland. Since the mid-1990s, his core business has been dispute resolution and investigations. He is (possibly) the only Welsh-speaking forensic accountant in practice in continental Europe.
He has testified between 60-70 times in legal proceedings and in late-2017 he used this broad and deep experience to revive his family’s firm Senogles & Co first established in 1925 (see Our History page).
Since 2022, he has been a member of the Investment Committee of leading litigation funder Omni Bridgeway.
Over the decades, Geoff has handled many hundreds cases and projects covering an extremely broad range of business sectors, working in many countries. He has acted as party-appointed or Tribunal/Court-appointed expert witness. Increasingly, he now acts as a non-testifying adviser on quantum - advising law firms, funders or clients directly. Senogles & Co also has extensive case experience of working closely with sector specialist technical experts.
His hearing room arbitration and litigation testimony experience includes: ICJ; ICSID; ICC; PCA; UNCITRAL; LCIA; Swiss Rules; Stockholm Chamber of Commerce; Supreme Court of Gibraltar; High Court, London; TAS/CAS Tribunal d'Arbitrage du Sport; and the Iran-US Claims Tribunal. In addition, while a UN staff member, he gave advice and opinion on countless occasions to several Panels of Commissioners in the United Nations Compensation Commission, Geneva.
He acts for investor clients to monitor finances and operations of their investment companies and, on occasion, these assignments lead to appointments to advisory boards. Geoff acts as non-executive or advisory board member for companies in the United Kingdom and Switzerland (start-ups and established companies). In this work, we act for individual investors, family offices and JV partners.
Geoff’s other recent work includes: war reparations; human rights damages; Joint Venture reviews; fraud investigations; banking investigations; and Private Client work.
Since 2009, he has lectured on financial damages on LL.M programmes at universities in Switzerland. He has regularly been invited to speak at international legal conferences.
